What should I expect the weather to be?
Winter days are chilly with temperatures ranging from 15° - 30°F. Evenings are much colder staying in the single digits and teens, rarely ever dropping below 0°F. Winter snow and ice storms are common. The early spring months are similar to winter with the same likelihood of storms. The late spring temperatures rise to the 70°F's during the day, and evening temperatures drop to approximately 30° - 45°F.
The summer months bring long, hot days averaging 85°F, which is ideal weather to experience the many activities at Shawnee Lodge. Enjoy an evening stroll where pleasant temperatures reside in the 60°F's.
Fall brings a burst of brilliant color, and the early months are comfortably crisp with the day temperatures ranging from 60° - 70°F and evenings in the 50°F.
Is there cell phone service?
Cell phone service is available for most providers; however, we can't guarantee the signal strength.
Is there a business center?
We offer high-speed Internet and email access along with package shipping, copy and facsimile services. Upon check-in, please visit the front desk for the location of our business services.
Can Shawnee accommodate large groups?
Group gatherings of any kind are a natural choice for Shawnee Conference Center. The conference area has a variety of meeting/banquet rooms divisible into various breakout configurations. Our staff is experienced and available to assist you in planning a unique day.

Are there ADA compliant rooms at Shawnee?
Shawnee State Park Lodge offers five accessible lodge rooms (one with a roll-in shower) and three accessible cabins.
What are the check-in/check-out times for Lodge rooms and cabins?
Check-in time for a Lodge room is 4:00pm; Check-out is at 11:00am.
Cabin check-in is at 4:00pm; Check-out is at 10:00am.
Can I check into my room or cabin early?
Although we try to accommodate your requests for an early check-in, it's not always possible, depending on how full the lodge or cabins were the night before and how quickly our guests check out in the morning. Our reservation center will be happy to note a request for early check-in on your reservation; however, we cannot guarantee such requests. It's a good idea to call the lodge the evening before or the morning of your arrival to see if they can give you an idea of how early you can check in.
Can I check out of my room or cabin late?
We're glad you want to linger at our parks for a while, but we can't always allow you to linger in your room! As long as the lodge is not sold out and we do not need your room, an extra hour for check-out is allowed. We do ask you to be considerate of guests checking in behind you who don't want to wait for their room to be ready. Please check with the front desk the morning of your departure to see if a late check-out is possible.
Is there an entrance fee to enter the park?
There is no park entrance fees to enter Shawnee State Park.
How far in advance can I make lodging reservations?
We offer reservations up to 12 months in advance of arrival.
What taxes and fees are there?
Our current tax rate is 7.25% sales tax, a 5% bed tax, and a 3% beautification fee.
What is the Beautification Fee used for?
In partnership with Ohio Department of Natural Resources, U.S. Hotel and Resort Management, Inc. will assess a three percent beautification fee on all purchases at the lodge.
The monies collected are designated to be used for the continual improvement of the overall lodge and cabin accommodations, and recreation amenities only.
What is the smoking and alcohol policy?
Please note that our lodge, in accordance with the Ohio Department of Natural Resources, provides a smoke-free environment to park guests. We ask that this non-smoking policy be observed in all public areas, including the dining room. We thank you for your cooperation.
The lodge is a liquor permit holder, and in accordance with the Ohio Liquor Laws, alcoholic beverages purchased off premises are not permitted. Again, we thank you for your cooperation
Do you have a waitlist for room reservations?
We do not offer a waitlist for reservations.
Since you don't have a waitlist, should I check back every day for a cancellation?
Cancellations do occur; however, they can occur at random with limited success in obtaining the dates and accommodations desired. If your first choice is not available, rather than scheduling your vacation around the possibility of a cancellation, we suggest checking alternate dates instead.
Can I cook in my room?
Cooking is not allowed in our guest rooms; however, we do allow cooking in our cabins which come with fully-equipped kitchens.
Do you offer Wireless Internet Access?
We do offer high-speed wireless Internet.
Can I have a pet in my room?
Shawnee offers select cabins that are designated "pet friendly." Pet-friendly cabins can be booked online. Pets are not permitted in any cabins or lodge rooms not designated as "pet friendly." All assistance dogs for visually or hearing-impaired or orthopedically challenged individuals are permitted in accordance with the Americans with Disabilities Act of 1991.
Do I need dining room reservations?
Reservations are not required, but we highly recommend them to ensure your dining pleasure.

What are the hours of operation for the indoor and outdoor pools?
Our indoor pool is open from 7:00am until 11:00pm daily. The outdoor pool is open 10:00am to 8:00pm Sunday through Thursday, and 10:00am to 9:00pm Friday and Saturday.
